Discover the Colonial legacy of Kochi on this private exclusive tour in English for you and your group.

Tour Details

We will pick you up at your hotel in Kochi at the designated time to visit the St. Francis Church, one of the oldest European churches in India. You will learn about its historical significance and which famous Portuguese explorer was buried here before being sent to Lisbon.

Next, we will head to the Matancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace, built by Portuguese settlers in 1557 as a gift to the Raja of Cochin. You will admire its chambers filled with traditional items.

In the vicinity of the palace, you will see the Pardesi Synagogue in Jew Town. We will stroll through this Jewish neighborhood among various shops, including antique shops and spice auctions.

Lastly, we will visit the pier to see the famous Chinese fishing nets, a wooden structure installed by Chinese vendors in the 14th century, where you can observe fishermen in action.

The tour lasts from 5 to 6 hours before we return to your hotel.

Important Info

The tour will not visit the synagogue on Saturdays, as it is closed.
