- 4 Bewertungen
Discover the Colonial legacy of Kochi on this private exclusive tour in English just for you and your group.
Tour Details
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Kochi at the designated time. The first stop is the St. Francis Church, one of the oldest European churches in India. Here, you'll learn about its historical significance and discover which famous Portuguese explorer was buried here before being sent to Lisbon.
Next, we will proceed to the Matancherry Palace (Dutch Palace), built by Portuguese settlers in 1557 as a gift to the Raja of Cochin. You will admire its chambers containing traditional items.
In the vicinity, we will visit the Pardesi Synagogue located in Jew Town. You will stroll through this Jewish neighborhood among various stores, including antique shops and spice auctions.
Our final stop will be at the pier to see the famous Chinese fishing nets, a large wooden structure introduced by Chinese vendors in the 14th century. You will observe how fishermen operate them, reflecting a technique that continues to influence daily life in Cochin.
We will return to your hotel after 5 to 6 hours.
Important Info
The tour will not visit the synagogue on Saturdays, as it is closed.
