Itinerary

Your guided tour begins with a pickup from your hotel. The first stop is St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, built in 1503. Here, you will learn about its historical significance and discover which famous Portuguese explorer was buried there.

The tour continues to the Dutch Palace, also known as Mattancherry Palace, which was built by Portuguese colonisers as a gift to the Raja of Cochin. It boasts well-preserved mythological murals, reflecting Hindu temple art.

Next, visit the Pardesi Synagogue in the city's oldest part, showcasing Kochi's cultural diversity. You will have the opportunity to stroll through the historic centre, exploring narrow streets with colonial-style houses.

Before returning to your hotel, you will see the Chinese fishing nets, significant structures from 14th century Chinese explorers that still provide fresh fish in the area, representing the unofficial symbol of the Keralan backwaters.

The synagogue is closed on Saturdays, so it will not be included in the tour on that day.
