Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Oaxaca and travel to Teotitlán del Valle, located 30 kilometres (18.6 miles) from the city. Here, we will immerse ourselves in Guelaguetza, a celebration with origins in pre-Hispanic times held on the two Mondays closest to the 16th of July in honour of the Virgen del Carmen.

In Teotitlán, we'll experience the festive atmosphere of Guelaguetza, witness traditional dances, and admire textiles from various regions of Oaxaca. We'll visit a workshop to learn about the process of making Oaxacan textiles, a tradition passed down through generations.

At lunchtime, we'll enjoy local cuisine at La Casa de Doña María, savoring authentic dishes in a cozy environment. After lunch, we'll visit the Centro Cultural Comunitario de Teotitlán to learn about the area's archaeological and textile richness.

Our tour will continue at the archaeological site of Mitla, the second most important archaeological site in the state of Oaxaca, where we will learn about Zapotec culture and explore ancient structures revealing the history of this civilization.

At the end of the visit, we'll return you to your hotel in Oaxaca, concluding an exciting day of about 9 hours.
