Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Oaxaca and make our way to Santa María del Tule. Here, we'll begin our immersion in Guelaguetza, a celebration that has its origins in pre-Hispanic times and is currently held on the two Mondays closest to July 16 in honour of the Virgen del Carmen.

We'll experience the festive atmosphere of the Guelaguetza, where we'll witness traditional dances and admire textiles from different regions of Oaxaca. We'll also visit the iconic tree of Tule to learn about its significance in the community; it has the thickest trunk in the world.

Our tour continues at the archaeological site of Mitla, the second most important archaeological site in Oaxaca. Here, we'll learn about Zapotec culture and explore ancient structures that tell the story of this civilization.

At lunchtime, you'll enjoy local Oaxacan cuisine, savouring authentic dishes in a cozy atmosphere. After lunch, we'll visit a weaving workshop to learn about the richness of the region's textiles.

Afterward, we'll return to your hotel in Oaxaca, concluding an exciting day of about 9 hours in total.
