Guelatao & Calpulálpam 2 Day Tour
Day 1: Oaxaca - Guelatao de Juárez - Calpulálpam de Méndez
At 10 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Oaxaca and visit the Guelatao glass viewpoint for views of the Oaxaca Valley and the Sierra Juárez mountain range. Next, we will travel to Guelatao de Juárez to visit a museum modeled after the house of Benito Juárez and the basilica where he was baptized.
Our tour continues to Calpulálpam de Méndez, a Pueblo Mágico known for its embroidery. Upon arrival, you'll have free time for lunch, followed by a cultural tour of the town, featuring visits to houses, the market, and the San Mateo Apóstol temple.
We will spend the night in picturesque stone cabins.
Day 2: Calpulálpam de Méndez - Oaxaca
We will start early with a visit to the UMA, a reserve for the protection of white-tailed deer. You'll have the opportunity to take photos and then walk to the Arroyo Cave. Here, we will walk barefoot to feel a deeper connection to the earth.
After returning to Calpulálpam de Méndez, you will have 1 hour of free time for lunch. Following this, we will visit the Traditional Indigenous Medicine Centre to learn about local plants' medicinal properties. Options for relaxation include body cleansing, massage, or sauna.
We will conclude the trip with your return to the hotel in Oaxaca around 7 pm.
