Mezcal Tour of Santa Catarina Minas

After picking you up from your hotel in Oaxaca, we'll drive 45 minutes to Santa Catarina Minas. Here, we'll commence our mezcal tour.

This town is known for its mezcal tradition. We'll meet a local mezcal producer and learn how agave has historically been milled by hand, fermented in piles, and distilled in clay pots.

Next, we'll visit an artisanal mezcal factory to explore agave cultivation and organic production processes. This farm also raises cows and goats, which provide fertilizer for the plantations.

The tour concludes with a mezcal tasting of 10 different varieties. On our return, we'll stop at a restaurant in the Ocotlán Valley, allowing time for a meal if desired.

Finally, we will drive you back to your hotel in Oaxaca, completing the tour approximately 7 hours after departure.
