Mezcal Tour of Santa Catarina Minas

After picking you up from your hotel in Oaxaca, we'll drive 45 minutes to Santa Catarina Minas. Once there, we'll start our mezcal tour.

This town is known for its mezcal tradition. We will meet a local mezcal producer and learn about the hand milling of agave, fermentation in piles, and distillation in clay pots, which are historical processes in the region.

Following this, we will visit an artisanal mezcal factory to explore the agave cultivation and organic production processes. This farm also raises cows and goats that supply fertilizer for the plantations.

Our tour concludes with a mezcal tasting, featuring a total of 10 different varieties. On the way back, we will stop at a restaurant in the Ocotlán Valley, providing you with time to get some food if desired.

We will then return you to your hotel in Oaxaca, where you will arrive 7 hours later.
