Ocotlán de Morelos is a small town located in the central valleys region. On this tour, you will explore its neoclassical church, the local market, and a square where residents of the Oaxaca region sell their products.

Ocotlan Day Trip

We will pick you up from your hotel in Oaxaca and travel towards Ocotlán de Morelos, located 45 kilometers from the city center.

We will walk through the town's streets, visiting the Ocotlán Basilica, which features neoclassical decor.

You will discover the local market, where you can taste the region's typical delicacies (not included), and we will continue to the traditional square, where every Friday, residents come to sell their artisanal wares. Here, you can purchase food, utensils, or textiles while enjoying the festive atmosphere and music.

The excursion will also take us to Santo Tomás Jalieza, known for traditional Mesoamerican weaving, noted for its vibrant colors.

The highlight of the tour is a visit to San Martín Tilcajete, where you will learn about the creation of 'alebrijes', colorful sculptures inspired by the work of Pedro Linares in the 1930s, which represent Oaxaca's artisanal culture.

At the conclusion of the tour, we will return to Oaxaca, arriving around 5:30 pm.
