Aveiro & Costa Nova Tour

  • 4 Stunden

Less than an hour away from Coimbra, the Venice of Portugal awaits you. Explore Aveiro on a traditional Moliceiro boat and discover one of the country's beaches at Costa Nova.

Aveiro & Costa Nova Tour

After meeting on Emídio Navarro Av. in Coimbra, you will head to Aveiro. In the historic city, you will board a Moliceiro boat for a 45-minute cruise on the canals that divide Aveiro, earning it the nickname "the Venice of Portugal." After the cruise, you will explore the old town, including Art Nouveau buildings and the fishermen's quarter, and taste the traditional sweet, ovos moles.

Your next stop will be Praia da Barra, where you can explore the stunning white sand beach and take photos with the Aveiro Lighthouse, the second-tallest lighthouse on the Iberian Peninsula. Following this, you'll visit Costa Nova, known for its iconic striped houses that were historically home to local fishermen.

After enjoying your time in these coastal towns, you will return to the meeting point in Coimbra.

Climbing Aveiro Lighthouse

If you take the tour on a Wednesday afternoon, you can choose to climb Aveiro Lighthouse. After 300 steps, you will enjoy a panoramic view of the bay. This activity is not recommended for individuals with heart problems.
