Aveiro & Costa Nova Tour
- 4 Stunden
Less than an hour away from Coimbra, the Venice of Portugal awaits you. Explore beautiful Aveiro on a traditional Moliceiro boat and discover one of the country's most spectacular beaches at Costa Nova.
Aveiro & Costa Nova Tour
After meeting on Emídio Navarro Av. in Coimbra, you'll proceed to Aveiro. Arriving in the historic city, you'll board a Moliceiro boat for a 45-minute cruise on the canals that divide Aveiro, earning it the nickname "the Venice of Portugal." Following the cruise, you'll explore the old town of Aveiro, discovering its Art Nouveau buildings and visiting the traditional fishermen's quarter while tasting the local sweet, ovos moles.
Next, you will visit Praia da Barra, where you can explore the white sand beach and take photos with the Aveiro Lighthouse, the second-tallest lighthouse on the Iberian Peninsula. The tour continues to Costa Nova, known for its iconic striped houses that historically housed local fishermen. After enjoying the coastal towns, you will return to the meeting point in Coimbra.
Climbing Aveiro Lighthouse
If you choose to do this Aveiro & Costa Nova Tour on a Wednesday afternoon, you can climb Aveiro Lighthouse. After climbing 300 steps, you will enjoy a panoramic view of the bay. This activity is not recommended for individuals with heart problems.
