Sanctuary of Fatima & Aljustrel Tour

We'll meet on Emídio Navarro Av. in Coimbra and head towards Fatima. The first stop will be the historic village of Aljustrel, where three young shepherds reportedly witnessed apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1917.

In Aljustrel, you'll visit the houses of Lucía, Francisco and Jacinta, the three shepherd children. After exploring Aljustrel, the next stop will be the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima, a pilgrimage center attracting over six million visitors annually, ideal for those interested in Catholicism in Portugal.

At the Sanctuary, visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary with its 65-meter tall tower, the modern Basilica of the Holy Trinity, and the Chapel of the Apparitions, where the three children first encountered the Virgin Mary. There may be an opportunity to attend mass at this site.

After visiting the key monuments and religious sites at the Sanctuary, we will return to the meeting point in Coimbra.
