Serra da Lousa and Aldeias do Xisto Trip

Tour Details

We will meet at the Hotel Astoria in Coimbra at the scheduled time. Once ready, we'll depart for the excursion into the landscapes and villages of Portugal’s Central System mountain range.

First, we'll travel to Serra de Lousã by bus and start at the village of Cerdeira, known for its reconstructed houses made of shale stones, clay, and brown wood.

Next, we will visit some of the Xisto villages, including Candal. Located on a south-facing hill, we will explore its streets and enjoy scenic views of the valley from a viewpoint.

We will also stop at the village of Talasnal, the largest and best-preserved village, to see slate houses, oaks, cork trees, and cobblestone paths.

Finally, we will return to the hotels in Coimbra after a day exploring rural Portugal.
