When booking, you can select from the following options. Both begin at the Astoria Hotel in Coimbra and include transportation by minibus and an English-speaking guide. Below are the details of each option:

Serra da Lousa & Xisto Villages Trip (4 Hours)

After picking you up from your hotel in Coimbra, we'll head to Serra de Lousã by bus. We'll start at the village of Cerdeira, where you can explore its reconstructed houses made of shale stones, clay, and brown wood. We will visit villages of Xisto, like Candal, located on a south-facing hill, offering scenic views from a viewpoint. A stop at the village of Talasnal, the largest and best-preserved village, will allow you to venture through its slate houses and cobblestone streets. Finally, we will return to hotels in Coimbra after exploring rural Portugal.

Slate Villages of Serra da Lousã (8 Hours)

This option explores the scenic mountains of Sicó and Lousã, visiting slate-built villages including Cerdeira, Candal, Talasnal, and Casal Novo. A visit to Trevim includes the famous Lousã Swing. Afterward, we will enjoy lunch and a tasting of PDO-certified sheep and goat cheeses, olive oils, bread, and wine in Rabaçal. We’ll return to the meeting point approximately eight hours after starting the tour.
