Boat Excursion to Freycinet Peninsula & Wineglass Bay
We'll gather at the designated meeting spot on Jetty Road and board a vessel that will guide us through the magnificent Freycinet National Park. Get ready to uncover the beauty of Wineglass Bay!
Leaving Coles Bay behind, our adventure along Tasmania's eastern shore will commence. The initial segment of our journey will reveal enchanting sea caves, majestic granite cliffs, picturesque waterfalls, and the tranquil Cooks and Bryan Beaches. Throughout the trip, we’ll discuss the diverse plant and animal life found in Freycinet National Park, home to 49 endemic species.
As we approach Wineglass Bay, we'll take a moment to admire the northern shore of Schouten Island. Keep a lookout for the charming little penguins and shearwaters that call this island home!
Subsequently, we will venture into the Tasman Sea, where Wineglass Bay awaits. As we arrive, the stunning pink peaks of The Hazards mountain range will come into view. We’ll explain the reasons for this distinctive coloration while you capture beautiful moments.
You’ll hear stories about the pioneers of Wineglass Bay, and if fate smiles upon us, we may also glimpse dolphins frolicking in the waters. For those joining us between September and December or from May to July, there’s a chance to witness majestic whales.
After a delightful 4 hours and 30 minutes on the water, we’ll make our way back to the original meeting point to conclude this unforgettable experience.
