Why Visit Choco Story Colmar?
The Alsace region has a long tradition of chocolate making. Choco Story Colmar, located in the central Place de la Cathédrale, pays tribute to this link with a large exhibition dedicated to cocoa.
With your ticket, you'll visit the Museum of Chocolate in Colmar following the explanations of an audio guide in English. You'll discover the origins of cocoa and learn about its history from the 15th century onwards, when the product was brought to Europe by the conquistadors.
Throughout the visit, you'll discover the connections of the Mayan, Aztec and Inca civilisations to cocoa. The exhibition features interactive areas where you can smell different cocoa aromas and learn how chocolates and pralines are made.
The exhibition also displays unique pieces, including a sculpture of the Statue of Liberty made entirely from cocoa, honoring Auguste Bartholdi, the sculptor of the original New York work, a native of Colmar.
After 1.5 hours of sightseeing, you'll conclude your visit with a chocolate tasting!
