Uruguay River Kayak Tour

Try out a fun sport in a unique environment on our Uruguay River Kayak Tour. We'll set off from Colón and row along the Argentinean section of the Uruguay River while admiring the views around us.

Uruguay River Kayak Tour

When making your booking, you'll be able to choose between a 3 or an 8-hour kayak tour. Both routes start at the scheduled time from a campsite located next to the banks of the river, where you'll be given a brief theory lesson.

3-Hour Tour

This route is suitable for beginners, covering a distance of approximately 6 miles (10 kilometres). We'll row along a scenic area of the Uruguay River, observing the local biodiversity. There may be opportunities to spot endemic birds such as sparrow hawks, jacanas, or kingfishers, and learn to distinguish between species.

At the halfway point, we will take a break on the shore to enjoy a snack, including homemade cakes, fresh fruit, nuts, and regional cakes, with a drink choice of mate, tea, or coffee. We will return to the meeting point 3 hours after departure.

Schedule: this tour runs at 10 am and 2 pm.

8-Hour Tour with Lunch

This option includes a medium-difficulty, 12-mile (20-kilometre) route. In addition to exploring the fauna and flora, we will learn about the history of one of the first river ports of the Spanish colony.

The tour includes a stop at a river island for lunch, featuring a picada of regional products, grilled pizza, and a selection of asados. Options include beef, chicken, or river fish (sea bream or bogue), with a vegetarian or vegan stir-fry available. Dessert will be a seasonal fruit salad. We will kayak back to the starting point, arriving by 6 pm.
