Experience an exciting sport in a distinctive setting with the Kayak Tour on the Uruguay River. Departing from Colón, we will paddle through the Argentinean section of the Uruguay River, taking in the stunning surroundings.

Kayak Tour on the Uruguay River

When booking, you can select between a 3-hour or 8-hour kayaking experience. Both tours commence from a campsite located by the riverbank, where participants will receive a brief introductory session.

3-Hour Kayak Experience

This beginner-friendly route spans approximately 6 miles (10 kilometres), making it an excellent option for newcomers.

We'll navigate one of the most picturesque segments of the Uruguay River, which also serves as the natural boundary with the Argentine province of Entre Ríos. While paddling, expect to encounter the stunning biodiversity of local fauna and flora characteristic of this South American region.

With a bit of luck, we may spot some native bird species, including sparrow hawks, jacanas, or kingfishers. Additionally, we will learn to differentiate between various species.

At the midway point, we will pause to relax on the riverbank and enjoy a snack, which will feature homemade cakes, fresh fruit, nuts, and a selection of regional pastries. Participants can choose between mate, tea, or coffee for refreshments. After our snack break, we will make our way back to the starting point, concluding the tour three hours after departure.

Schedule: Tours are offered at 10 am and 2 pm.

8-Hour Kayak Experience with Lunch

Opting for this option will take you on a medium-difficulty route spanning 12 miles (20 kilometres).

During this tour, you'll not only witness the diverse wildlife and plants along the Uruguay River but also explore the historical significance of one of the earliest river ports established during the Spanish colonial period.

Subsequently, we'll make a stop at a river island to enjoy a delicious lunch. The meal will feature a picada consisting of regional delicacies, grilled pizza, and a range of asados. Choose from beef, chicken, or river fish like sea bream or bogue, with a vegetarian or vegan stir-fry option available as well. For dessert, relish a fresh seasonal fruit salad.

After lunch, we will kayak back to our starting point, with an expected arrival around 6 pm.
