On this free walking tour of Comillas, we'll explore the beautiful town known as the 'village of the archbishops'.

Tour Details

We will meet at the Fuente de los Tres Caños (Fountain of the Three Spouts) in Plaza Joaquín del Piélago to begin our tour.

The tour includes an overview of the architecture of the New Town Hall, Ocejo House, La Portilla, Las Cavaducas, Sobrellano Palace, and Gaudi's Capricho. We will discuss the significance of the sunflowers on its façade and its connection to music.

Next, we will visit the Pontifical University and uncover details of its façade. The route will continue through the Modernist Residence, the Cemetery, the Statue of the Marquis of Comillas, the House of the Duke of Almodóvar del Río, the Espolón Cultural Center, Corro San Pedro, the San Cristóbal Church, and the Old Town Hall.

We will also see a building that was once the home of King Afonso XII and learn about Comillas being the capital of Spain for a day. Additionally, we will view a sculpture that had to be relocated due to its original placement.

Throughout the tour, we will explore the link between Comillas and cinema. The tour will last approximately 1.5 hours and conclude in the town center.
