The colonial past of Minas Gerais is very present in Sabará and Congonhas. We'll discover the main monuments of both Brazilian towns on this excursion from Belo Horizonte.

Sabará + Congonhas Tour

After picking you up at your hotel in Belo Horizonte at the indicated time, we'll leave the capital of the state of Minas Gerais and head east.

The first stop will be in Sabará, where we'll take a guided tour of the old town, viewing the monuments of Dom Pedro II street, the church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Pretos, and the Municipal Theatre, along with the churches of Nossa Senhora do Ó and Nossa Senhora do Carmo.

Next, we will visit the Kaquende fountain. Legend has it that those who drink from it always return to Sabará. The tour concludes at a restaurant where you'll have an hour free for lunch.

After lunch, we'll head to Congonhas to visit the local museum and the sanctuary of Bom Jesus de Matosinhos. We will also see the Passos da Paixão, which are 66 processional steps carved by Aleijadinho, along with the sculptures of the Twelve Prophets created by him.

Finally, we will return to Belo Horizonte, arriving at your hotel approximately 10 hours after pickup.
