Conversano & Rutigliano Tour
At the appointed time, we'll meet in front of the Conversano Castle to start a tour through this medieval town.
In front of the castle, a symbol of the town, we'll cover the peculiarities of this Norman fortress. Once inside, we'll visit the reception rooms and the wedding hall of Count Giangirolamo II Acquaviva d'Aragona, also known as Guecio di Puglia.
The tour continues at the Monastery of San Benedetto di Conversano, including the medieval cloister and the second cloister, which houses the archaeological exhibition of the civic museum. Before continuing, we'll stop in front of the Conversano Cathedral, known as the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, showcasing Romanesque architecture.
After exploring the walls of Conversano, you will follow the guide in your own vehicle to Rutigliano, where we will participate in a walking tour of the historic center.
As we walk through its streets, we'll discuss the figurine tradition of Rutigliano, highlighting the whistle of Rutigliano and the town's reputation for terracotta whistles.
After visiting the Norman castle and the main noble palaces, we'll conclude the tour at the meeting point in Conversano, five hours after departure.
