On this whale-watching experience, we'll go to Chañaral de Aceituno, a paradise for marine animals in the Chilean Pacific. We'll also have a delicious lunch!

Tour Details

Are you ready to see the largest mammals of the Chilean Pacific? We'll start this journey by picking you up at your hotel in La Serena at the indicated time. From there, we'll drive north for 120 kilometres (74.5 miles) until we reach Chañaral de Aceituno.

Once there, we'll head to the coast to board the boat that will take us to the island of Chañaral de Aceituno, which is home to more than 6 square kilometres (2.3 square miles) of fascinating natural life. This island, part of the Pingüino de Humboldt National Reserve, hosts thousands of marine animals.

During the boat trip, you may see otters among the rock formations. We'll anchor at a strategic observation location to spot humpback whales, which frequent this area due to favorable feeding conditions.

Other sightings may include migratory birds, sea turtles, albatrosses, bottlenose dolphins, and possibly penguins. Remember to bring your camera!

Finally, we'll return to dry land for a visit to a local restaurant to enjoy a 3-course Chilean lunch. Afterward, we will return to your hotel 10 hours after pickup.
