Join us on a journey through an Argentine city's history and architecture on our Córdoba Churches Tour. We'll visit the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption and churches belonging to Capuchin and Jesuit orders.

Córdoba Churches Tour

At your chosen time, we'll meet at your hotel in central Córdoba. From there, we'll walk to San Martín Square and visit the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, a key Catholic building in the province.

Inside the Cathedral, we'll observe Renaissance decoration from colonial times and notable features such as the barrel vault and high altar adorned with embossed silver from Upper Peru. We'll discuss the tombs of important figures, dean Gregorio Funes and aristocrat Margarita Weild.

Nearby, we'll visit the Church of Saint Teresa and the Monastery of Saint José de las Carmelitas Descalzas, learning about cloistered life. Our tour continues to the Church of the Society of Jesus, Córdoba's oldest church and a World Heritage Site.

The final stop is the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, also known as Los Capuchinos Church. This neo-Gothic structure, built in the early 20th century, features decorated vaults and artwork depicting the life of Saint Francis of Assisi.

After 2 hours 30 minutes, the tour concludes at Los Capuchinos Church. You may climb the bell tower for panoramic views.

Meeting point

The walking tour starts from your hotel in the city centre. If you are outside the centre, please make your way to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption in San Martín Square. The guide will meet you at the main entrance, located where Independencia and San Jerónimo Streets intersect.
