Mosque-Cathedral & Alcazar Guided Tour

We'll meet at 10 am at Plaza del Triunfo, near the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba. After learning about the origins of this monument, we'll start a guided tour of its interior.

During our tour of this historic place of worship, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we'll visit the extensions ordered by emirs like Abderramán III and Alhakén II. Walking through the forest of columns, we'll reach the mihrab, the horseshoe-arched prayer niche with intricate details.

We'll also visit the nave of the transept before proceeding to the Alcazar of the Christian Monarchs. There, we'll review the history of this medieval fortress and see remains dating back to Roman times.

Inside the Alcazar, we'll visit the Hall of the Mosaics, which housed a chapel from the Spanish Inquisition. Finally, we'll explore the Alcazar Gardens, featuring Andalusian-style fountains and the sculpture of the Catholic Monarchs meeting Christopher Columbus.

After three to three and a half hours of discovering two of Córdoba's essential sites, our guided tour will conclude at the main entrance of the Alcazar.
