Free Tour of Cork
We'll meet at the Cork Opera House to begin our free tour of Cork, the second-largest city in Ireland. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours, during which we will explore the historic center of Cork and learn about its history dating back to the 7th century, when St. Finbar established an abbey in the area.
Our route includes notable sites such as St. Anne's Church, St. Mary and St. Anne's Cathedral, and Bishop Lucey Park. We will visit Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral, recognized for its striking angel façade made of copper and gold foil.
We will also view Elizabeth Fort, which has served as a defensive structure for over 400 years. It’s notable that the Vikings arrived in 820 AD and constructed their own settlement on an island in the River Lee.
The tour concludes at the National Monument, where we will say our goodbyes.
