When in northern France, secure your ticket to Coucy Castle, a significant site of French history and culture in Picardy.

Why visit the Coucy Castle?

Located in the Picardy region, Coucy Castle is one of the largest fortresses in northern France. The entry ticket allows you to explore its remains, constructed in the 13th century by Enguerrand III de Boves to protect his domain and demonstrate authority.

Although disassembled in 1652 and used as a quarry, the castle was acquired by the French State in 1848. Subsequent preservation efforts were initiated by architects like Viollet-le-Duc. However, during World War I, various parts of the castle, including some towers, were destroyed.

Today, remnants of Coucy Castle allow for exploration, including a stroll along the fortress's perimeter and a view of the former chapel and architectural elements illustrating its historical significance.
