Discover one of the most visited religious destinations in the world on this day trip to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, built in honor of Latin America's patron saint.
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and start the trip to the north of Mexico City to visit the Villa de Guadalupe, visited by 20 million pilgrims every year in honor of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
We will visit the current Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the second most visited Catholic monument worldwide, after St. Paul's Basilica in Rome. This site was where the World Cup trophy won by the Royal Spanish Football Federation in 2010 was offered to the Virgin of Guadalupe.
We'll stop at the former basilica, which now serves as an expiatory church to Cristo Rey. Next, we will climb the Cerro del Tepeyac on a steep staircase to reach the Capilla del Cerrito, where the Virgin of Guadalupe first appeared, known for the "miracle of the fresh flowers."
Continuing, we'll arrive at the Capilla del Pocito (Chapel of the Little Well), known for its Baroque art and historical significance for healing properties attributed to its well.
Finally, we will return to your hotel in Mexico City and conclude the tour 4 hours later.
