On this excursion to Cuernavaca and the Xochicalco Archaeological Site, we'll see an important archaeological site in Mexico and the Cathedral of Cuernavaca.
Cuernavaca & Xochicalco Archaeological Site Tour
At 8 am, pick-up will be at the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel, after which we will proceed to Xochicalco, noted for its significance in Mesoamerican history.
The Xochicalco Archaeological Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, exemplifies the Mesoamerican Epiclassic era. It features important pyramids and plazas that showcase the culture that emerged following the decline of Teotihuacan.
We will also enter the Site Museum of Xochicalco to learn about Mayan culture. Following the exploration of the ruins, we proceed to Cuernavaca, where we will visit the 16th-century Franciscan cathedral, one of the oldest in the Americas.
After visiting the cathedral, you will have 2 hours of free time for lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, we will return to the meeting point in Mexico City, arriving around 6 pm.
