Cuernavaca & Xochicalco Archaeological Site Tour
On this excursion, we will visit the Xochicalco Archaeological Site and the Cathedral of Cuernavaca. At 8 am, we will pick you up at the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel and proceed to Xochicalco, located in the state of Morelos.
Xochicalco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, exemplifies the Mesoamerican Epiclassic era, marked by the emergence of cities in central Mexico following the decline of Teotihuacan. Although less famous than Chichen Itza or Tulum, its impressive pyramids and plazas merit a visit.
During the tour, we will explore the archaeological site and visit the Site Museum of Xochicalco to learn about Mayan culture. Next, we will travel to Cuernavaca to explore this colonial city, including the 16th-century Franciscan cathedral, one of the oldest in the Americas.
After touring the cathedral, you will have 2 hours of free time for lunch at a local restaurant. We will return you to the meeting point in Mexico City, arriving around 6 pm.
