Join us on an excursion to Cuernavaca and the Xochicalco Archaeological Site, where you'll discover one of Mexico's hidden archaeological treasures alongside the renowned Cathedral of Cuernavaca.
Tour of Cuernavaca & Xochicalco Archaeological Site
Our journey begins at 8 am with a pick-up from the Sheraton Maria Isabel Hotel, followed by an exciting trip to Xochicalco, a true hidden jewel in Morelos. Prepare to voyage back in history!
Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Xochicalco Archaeological Site represents an excellent illustration of the Mesoamerican Epiclassic period, noted for the rise of urban centers in central Mexico after Teotihuacan's decline. While not as celebrated as Chichen Itza or Tulum, Xochicalco is brimming with impressive pyramids and plazas that are well worth exploring.
In addition to wandering through the ruins, you'll have the opportunity to visit the Xochicalco Site Museum, where you can delve into the Mayan culture. After examining the archaeological site, we will proceed to Cuernavaca to discover this historic colonial city. Our visit includes the magnificent 16th-century Franciscan cathedral, which is among the oldest in the Americas!
Once we've explored the cathedral, you will enjoy 2 hours of free time for lunch at a local eatery.
After your meal, we will return you to the designated meeting point in Mexico City, with an estimated arrival time of around 6 pm.
