Discover one of the most visited religious destinations in the world on this excursion to La Villa de Guadalupe, constructed in honour of the patron saint of Latin America.
Guadalupe Basilica Excursion
We'll meet at 3 pm to begin the road to the north of the city, visiting Villa de Guadalupe, visited by 20 million pilgrims every year in honour of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
At the foot of the Cerro del Tepeyac hill, we'll visit the Basilica of Guadalupe, the second most visited Catholic monument in the world, second only to St. Paul's Basilica in Rome. Here we'll take a look at the basilica and climb the Cerro del Tepeyac through a steep staircase, arriving at the Cerrito Chapel, built where the Virgin of Guadalupe first appeared, known as the 'miracle of the fresh flowers.'
The tour continues towards the old capuchin convent, where the Museum of the Guadalupe Basilica currently stands. From here we can admire an impressive collection of over 4,000 pieces of new Hispanic art related to the cult of Guadalupe.
Before returning to the departure point in the centre of Mexico City, you'll have free time to pass through La Villa at your own pace.
