Puebla and Cholula Day Trip Itinerary
After hotel pickup, we'll travel east from Mexico City, crossing the mountains via the motorway with views of the Iztaccíhuatl and Popocatépetl volcanoes.
The first stop will be Cholula, the oldest continuously inhabited city in America. We'll visit the archaeological area, dominated by the Cholula Great Pyramid (Tlachihualtépetl), the biggest pyramid in the world, which is concealed behind a mountain. At the top of the pyramid, there is the church of Our Lady of Remedies.
The tour proceeds to Puebla, known as "The City of Angels." In Puebla, you will have free time to eat and sample local dishes, including the renowned mole poblano, a specialty of Puebla.
After lunch, we will explore the historic centre of Puebla, noted for its colonial architecture and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Key sites visited will include Plaza de las Armas, the Cathedral, and the Santo Domingo Church.
Before returning to Mexico City, we will stop at an artisanal market to find fine ceramic pieces known as Talavera pottery.
Hotel pickup
This tour includes pickup from hotels located in the historic center, Polanco, and Zona Rosa. If your hotel is outside these areas, we will meet at the Hotel Emporio Reforma.
Requirements in Mexico City
