Meet the beautiful small insects that travel thousands of miles from Canada to Mexico and visit a charming lakeside town on this excursion to Valle de Bravo and a monarch butterfly sanctuary.
Description
At the time indicated, we'll meet at the Sheraton María Isabel Hotel to start our tour in Valle de Bravo and the Butterfly Sanctuary.
After 2.5 hours, we'll arrive at the Piedra Herrada Butterfly Sanctuary. Once here, you can choose to do the trek by foot or on horseback.
We'll go on a 3.5-hour stroll through valleys full of monarch butterflies, which travel more than 3,100 miles (over 5,000 km) from southern Canada. Afterward, you'll have half an hour of free time to relax and have a snack before heading to our next destination.
Then we'll set off for Valle de Bravo, one of Mexico's Pueblos Mágicos located on the shores of a lake of the same name. Here we'll visit Velo de Novia Natural Park and its impressive waterfall that is more than 30 meters (100 feet) tall. You'll have approximately 1.5 hours to explore this site.
Finally, after 12 hours of activity, we'll end our tour at the initial meeting place. See you soon!
