Guided Tour of Cuenca
After being picked up from your hotel, you'll make your way to Cuenca's old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Your guided tour begins at the Plaza de San Sebastián, featuring the 19th-century Church of San Sebastián. At the Museum of Modern Art, located in the former Casa de la Temperancia, you'll see contemporary art exhibitions from both Ecuadorian and foreign artists.
You will learn about local life and visit the San Francisco market before enjoying the vibrant open-air flower market at the Plaza de las Flores.
In Abdón Calderón Park, admire views of the 16th-century Baroque-style Old Cathedral and the New Cathedral, where you can see the grand gold-leaf altar and pink marble floors imported from Carrara.
Your tour will also include a visit to a factory that produces traditional toquilla straw hats and explore the history of this recognized Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Next, you'll head to the banks of the River Tomebamba to view the colonial "hanging houses" and the Puento Roto or Broken Bridge. The tour concludes at the Turi viewpoint for panoramic views of Cuenca.
After 4 hours, you'll be returned to your hotel.
