During this tour starting from Cuiabá, you'll explore the vast wetlands of Mato Grosso by both boat and safari, known for its rich biodiversity and recognized as the largest wetland in the world.
Safari Through the Mato Grosso Marshland
We'll pick you up at Avenida São Sebastião at 7:30 am and head south towards the Mato Grosso wetlands. Upon arrival, we'll begin a 65-kilometer (40-mile) safari along the Transpantaneira highway. Here, you can observe caimans, macaws, toucans, and even the jaguar, a highlight of the region. The Mato Grosso marshlands were designated a World Heritage Site in 1988.
At noon, we will arrive at a lodge for a refreshing swim in the pool followed by a typical Midwest Brazilian lunch, which includes grilled meat, chicken in sauce or roast, rice, beans, steaks, and salads.
Later, we will take a boat ride to explore the natural wonders of the region, observing the effects of annual floods on the wetland ecosystem. The boat trip lasts an hour, and we will return to the departure pier before heading back to Cuiabá, arriving at the meeting point by 7:30 pm.
