Willemstad Tourist Train
At 10 am, we'll meet at Fort Amsterdam and board the tourist train that will take us around the most beautiful parts of Willemstad.
The train will then start chugging along towards Scharloo, a neighborhood full of picturesque houses built during the 1880s. We'll stop in front of the Bolo di Bruit, popularly known as "the wedding cake", one of the most photographed buildings in the city.
We'll then leave Scharloo behind and head to the Pietermaai Cathedral, the largest and most imposing church on the island. During the visit, we'll discuss its history as part of a World Heritage Site that encompasses the historic area and harbor of Willemstad.
Next, we'll pass by Queen Wilhelmina Park, a site for many cultural events, and Waterfort Arches, a fortress that was once the location of the Barracks of William III of the Netherlands. Time for some history!
After 1 hour, the tourist train ride in Willemstad will conclude as we return to Fort Amsterdam.
