Oropéndola Waterfall & Las Pailas Hiking Tour

In this hiking tour of the Oropéndola waterfall and Las Pailas, we'll discover two of the main natural jewels of the Rincón de la Vieja National Park.

Description

We will meet at Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin, from where we will embark on a hiking tour to explore this protected area in northern Costa Rica.

The route includes a hike of 3.5 km to the Las Pailas sector, known for its volcanic landscapes, including fumaroles, mini geysers, and volcanic mud pits. Along the way, we will see over 300 species of birds and native animals, such as armadillos, coatis, and iguanas, and may spot different types of monkeys, including white-faced, howler, and spider monkeys.

After exploring the local fauna and flora, we will continue towards the Oropéndola waterfall, which falls from a height of 25 meters into a natural pool of the Blanco River. We will rest briefly by the waterfall before returning to the meeting point, completing the tour in approximately 3.5 hours.
