Bassari Country + Saloum Delta: 10 Day Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Dakar - Pink Lake

Arrival in Dakar. Transfer to Lac Rose for overnight and dinner.

Day 2: Pink Lake - Kaolack

After breakfast, explore Lac Rose. Free time for lunch then visit Kaolack market. Dinner and overnight in Kaolack.

Day 3: Kaolack - Tambacounda - Mako

Leave for Tambacounda after breakfast. Lunch on your own. Cross Niokolo Koba National Park and settle at Mako camp. Optional short hike to spot hippos, followed by dinner at camp.

Day 4: Mako - Bassari Country - Kedougou

After breakfast, travel to Bassari Country. Lunch in Bedick then hike to Bassari villages. Dinner and overnight in Bedick.

Day 5: Kedougou - Dindefelo - Dande - Tambacounda

Visit Dindefelo waterfall followed by a trek to Dande. Lunch in nature—picnic recommended. Dinner at a hotel in Tambacounda.

Important: Hiking is optional, without it only Dande may be missed.

Day 6: Tambacounda - Toubacouta - Faoye

After breakfast, enter Salum Delta National Park. Boat ride on the Salum River to Faoye camp with free meal arrangements.

Day 7: Faoye - Joal Fadiouth - Marfafaco

Visit Joal-Fadiouth cemetery, then head to Marfafaco for free time to swim.

Day 8: Marfafaco

Boat trip in the Salum Delta followed by lunch. Visit Marfafaco village, then return to camp for dinner.

Day 9: Marfafaco - Somone

Morning journey to Somone lagoon, known for its birdwatching opportunities. Overnight in Somone.

Day 10: Somone - Dakar Airport

Breakfast with lagoon views. Free time for swimming and last-minute shopping. Return to Dakar airport.
