The landscapes of West Africa captivate from the first moment. We'll prove it in this 10-day tour of Senegal, departing from Dakar to visit the remote region of Bassari Country and the Salum river delta, among other places.

Bassari Country + Saloum Delta: 10 Day Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Dakar - Pink Lake

Welcome to Senegal! We'll pick you up at Dakar airport and drive to Lac Rose. The rest of the day is free for relaxation and dinner at the hotel.

Day 2: Pink Lake - Kaolack

After breakfast at Lac Rose, we'll explore the area, known for its unique landscapes. You'll have free time for lunch before heading to Kaolack, where you'll visit the popular market. Dinner and overnight in Kaolack.

Day 3: Kaolack - Tambacounda - Mako

After breakfast, we’ll travel to Tambacounda and have lunch at your leisure. We’ll cross Niokolo Koba National Park, identifying native species. We’ll settle in a Mako camp and, if conditions permit, enjoy a short hike to spot hippos, concluding with dinner at the camp.

Day 4: Mako - Bassari Country - Kedougou

After breakfast, we’ll travel to Bassari Country. You’ll check into a hotel in Bedick for lunch followed by a one-hour hike to visit Bassari villages and learn about their customs. Dinner included at the hotel.

Day 5: Kedougou - Dindefelo - Dande - Tambacounda

We’ll explore Dindefelo, including a visit to the Dindefelo waterfall. You'll hike to Dande to see the Dande waterfall, recommended to bring a picnic lunch. Afterward, we’ll settle into a hotel in Tambacounda for dinner. The hike is optional.

Day 6: Tambacounda - Toubacouta - Faoye

We’ll enter the Salum Delta National Park, stopping in the village of Soukouta. A boat ride will take us to Faoye, where you can have independent lunch and dinner.

Day 7: Faoye - Joal Fadiouth - Marfafaco

After breakfast, we’ll visit the shell cemetery in Joal-Fadiouth and then head to Marfafaco for the rest of the day at leisure by the river.

Day 8: Marfafaco

Following breakfast, we’ll take a boat trip on the Salum Delta, lunch at a local restaurant, and visit Marfafaco to learn about local customs. Dinner at a local camp.

Day 9: Marfafaco - Somone

We’ll move to the Somone lagoon, a birdwatching paradise. Overnight accommodation in Somone.

Day 10: Somone - Dakar Airport

Enjoy breakfast with a lagoon view. After some leisure time, we’ll return to Dakar and drop you off at the airport.
