After being picked up at the agreed time from your hotel in Dakar, we will head to the city’s port where a ferry awaits to take you to the captivating island of Goree. Here, you will learn about one of the most significant and chilling chapters in both Senegal's and the world’s history.

Following a brief journey of approximately 20 minutes, we will arrive and visit the House of Slaves as well as the Historical Museum of Senegal. For three hundred years, the island played a crucial role in the Atlantic slave trade due to its strategic location on the West African coast. You will delve into this somber period in history and see how Goree has become recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Next, you’ll have the chance to stroll through the colorful narrow streets while admiring the beautiful colonial houses of Goree. During this time, you can enjoy lunch at your leisure before we board the ferry and return to Dakar.

Upon our return to the capital, we will embark on a guided tour of the historic city center. You'll explore iconic locations such as Independence Square, the Presidential Palace, and the markets of Kermel and Sandaga, as well as the city's cathedral. We will also visit the Medina neighborhood, where you will admire the impressive architecture of the Grand Mosque of Dakar and check out the Tilene market, known for its shamans selling charms and amulets.

The tour of Dakar will conclude back at your hotel, approximately 8 to 9 hours after the start of the day trip.
