Dakar Private Tour
At 9 am, we will collect you from your hotel and commence our guided tour of Dakar's essential sights.
The first stop is Independence Square, the center of the historic city. This open space features the Presidential Palace, the official residence of the Senegalese government. Nearby, the vibrant Kermel and Sandaga markets offer a range of traditional local products, from regional food to handcrafted artisanry.
Next, we will visit the Our Lady of Victories Cathedral, the largest Catholic church in Dakar. Afterward, we will proceed to the fishing market of Soumbédioune and the Museum of Black Civilizations. We will then visit the African Renaissance Monument, the tallest statue in Africa, standing at nearly 100 feet.
We will continue to the Medina neighborhood to see the Grand Mosque of Dakar, built in the 1960s amid the Islamic resurgence in the country. You will stroll through the narrow streets to the mystical Tilene market, where shamans sell charms and amulets.
The tour concludes back at your hotel.
