Lompoul Desert Tour

On this excursion to the desert of Lompoul, we'll combine a 4x4 tour with a camel ride at sunset to explore these arid lands from different perspectives. Plus, if you'd like, you'll be able to sleep in a haima camp!

Lompoul Desert Tour

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Dakar and drive in a 4x4 to the desert of Lompoul. The drive will take about 3 hours until we enter the arid landscapes of Senegal. Although the Lompoul desert is one of the smallest in the world, the excursion is well worth it. Golden sand dunes stretch out in front of the Atlantic Ocean, creating a captivating landscape.

On board the off-road vehicle, we'll explore the baobab forest and visit the most interesting spots of the desert, sharing facts about how the fauna and flora have adapted to the aridity of these lands. Then, we'll take a break for lunch in a local restaurant, consisting of a starter, a main course, and a dessert.

After lunch, we'll go on a camel ride through the desert of Lompoul at sunset. The tour lasts 12-14 hours, after which we'll drop you back off at your hotel.

2-Day Excursion

For a longer experience, this option includes everything from the first day plus a night's accommodation in a haima camp. On the first day, besides lunch, you'll enjoy a 3-course dinner with regional music and breakfast the next morning prior to returning to Dakar.

You'll be dropped back off at your hotel in Dakar at approximately 2 pm.
