Habarana Day Trip

Both nature and culture await on our Habarana Day Trip from Dambulla. You'll visit a beautiful small city, learn all about the lifestyle of the locals and sample the delicious cuisine.

Habarana Day Trip

At 10 am we'll pick you up from your hotel in Dambulla and drive to Habarana, a 30-minute journey. Upon arrival, we'll begin exploring Habarana to gain insight into the local lifestyle.

The ox-drawn cart is the primary means of transport in this community. You'll experience this as we travel to the shores of Lake Habarana.

At the lake, we'll take a cruise to discover its flora and fauna from the boat. After the cruise, we'll dock next to a rice field where you can learn about rice cultivation in Sri Lanka and walk through the rice paddies.

We will then visit the home of a local family, who will guide us in preparing several typical Sri Lankan dishes. After cooking, we'll enjoy a buffet lunch that includes rice, curry, fish, salad, and crispy papadam.

Finally, we'll return to your hotel in Dambulla, with an estimated arrival time of 1:30 pm.
