Habarana Day Trip

Both nature and culture await on our Habarana Day Trip from Dambulla. You'll visit a small city, learn about the lifestyle of the locals and sample the local cuisine.

Habarana Day Trip

At 10 am we'll pick you up from your hotel in Dambulla and drive to Habarana, a 30-minute drive. Upon arrival, we'll explore Habarana for an insight into local life.

The ox-drawn cart is the main means of transportation in this community. You'll experience this as we travel to the shores of Lake Habarana.

Once at the lake, we'll take a cruise to discover its flora and fauna. Afterward, we'll dock next to a rice field to learn about rice cultivation in Sri Lanka and stroll through the paddies.

Next, we will visit the home of a local family, who will teach us to prepare typical Sri Lankan dishes. We will then enjoy a buffet lunch featuring rice, curry, fish, salad, and crispy papadam.

Lastly, we'll return to your hotel in Dambulla, arriving around 1:30 pm.
