The Biosphere Reserve of Hurulu is home to a diversity of birds, turtles, and Asian elephants. Experience Sri Lanka's wildlife on this safari from Dambulla.
Hurulu Eco Park Safari
Pickup from your hotel in Dambulla will be at 1:30 p.m. A minibus will transport you to the Hurulu Eco Park, one of the natural reserves in inland Sri Lanka.
The park spans a vast area. To explore it thoroughly, you will take an all-terrain vehicle safari. This route showcases the reserve's biodiversity and various bird species, including parrots, hawks, and peacocks. You may also see giant tortoises and, if fortunate, spot Sri Lankan leopards.
After a short lunch break (bring your own picnic), the safari continues to a special area where the Asian elephant herds reside. During the tour, you will observe their behaviors.
A stop will be made at the Hurulu Wewa reservoir, a watering hole for numerous migratory birds.
The Hurulu safari concludes at the entrance to the ecological park. You will then return to Dambulla, arriving at your hotel around 6:30 p.m.
