Hurulu Eco Park Private Safari

The Biosphere Reserve of Hurulu is home to numerous birds, turtles, and Asian elephants, showcasing typical wildlife of Sri Lanka during this safari from Dambulla.

Hurulu Eco Park Safari

Pickup will be at your hotel in Dambulla at 1:30 p.m., followed by a drive to the Hurulu Eco Park, a significant natural reserve in inland Sri Lanka.

The park encompasses a large area, so an all-terrain vehicle safari will be used to explore its biodiversity. Participants will see various bird species, including parrots, hawks, and peacocks, as well as giant tortoises and potentially the Sri Lankan leopards.

A lunch break will occur (picnic must be provided by participants) before continuing to a special area where Asian elephant herds reside. Observations will include the elephants' behaviors and activities.

A stop will be made at the Hurulu Wewa reservoir, where the shore acts as a watering hole for various Asian birds, many of which migrate long distances for water.

The safari concludes at the park entrance, followed by a return to Dambulla, arriving at your hotel around 6:30 p.m.
