The Biosphere Reserve of Hurulu is notable for its diverse wildlife, including birds, turtles, and Asian elephants. Experience the wildlife of Sri Lanka with a safari from Dambulla.

Hurulu Eco Park Safari

Pickup from your hotel in Dambulla is at 1:30 p.m. Following this, a minibus will take you to the Hurulu Eco Park, a significant natural reserve in inland Sri Lanka.

The park spans a large area, requiring an all-terrain vehicle safari for exploration. On this journey, expect to see a variety of bird species, including parrots, hawks, and peacocks. Additionally, you may encounter giant tortoises and, if fortunate, the Sri Lankan leopards.

A short break for lunch will be provided, and visitors should bring their own picnic. The safari then proceeds to an area populated by Asian elephant herds, where you can observe their behaviors.

Participants will also stop at the Hurulu Wewa reservoir, a drinking spot for various migratory birds.

The safari concludes at the park’s entrance. The minibus will return you to Dambulla, with an estimated arrival time at your hotel around 6:30 p.m.
