Minneriya National Park Safari

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Dambulla and then drive for just 40 minutes to one of the most extensive natural areas of Sri Lanka: the Minneriya National Park.

To get to know all the areas of the park in detail, we take a fantastic safari through Minneriya on board of an all-terrain Jeep. During the tour, you will hear some fascinating facts about the amazing creatures that inhabit this ecosystem, such as loris monkeys and Sri Lankan crocodiles.

We then take a short break so you can have lunch - remember to bring a picnic! Feeling reenergized, it is time for one of the highlights of the safari: the famous Minneriya elephants! These huge mammals will amaze you and you will see the marked trunk and peculiar ears that characterize the Asian species. These distinctive features distinguish them from their African "cousins".

After observing these magnificent creatures, we continue the safari by observing the variety of birds of Minneriya, such as herons, pelicans, and ibis. These species usually refresh themselves in the aquifers and lakes of the national park, where we will also see enormous buffaloes.

The jeep safari will end at the entrance of the park. From there, we will return by minibus to your hotel in Dambulla, arriving 5 hours later.
