Polonnaruwa & Pidurangala Day Trip
At 8 am, pickup will be from your hotel in Dambulla. The journey to the old city of Polonnaruwa will be by minibus, taking approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
Upon arrival, you will switch from the minibus to bikes and explore the ruins, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This area is recognized as one of the oldest kingdoms in Sri Lanka, founded by King Vijayabahu in 1070.
After exploring the ancient city, an ox-drawn cart will take you around the countryside. Following this, there will be a short boat trip on Bendiweva Lake, followed by a tuk-tuk tour of the local area.
The next destination will be Pidurangala. It offers an escape from the city crowds and a chance to connect with nature.
During your visit to this Buddhist complex, you will see the ruins of an ancient monastery. For those interested in adventure, there is an option to climb to the top of Pidurangala Rock for views of Sigiriya.
The return to your hotel in Dambulla is expected by 2 pm.
