Polonnaruwa & Pidurangala Day Trip
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Dambulla. We'll then travel to the old city of Polonnaruwa by minibus, which takes around 1 hour 30 minutes.
Upon arrival, we will switch from the minibus to bikes and start exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site, founded by King Vijayabahu in 1070.
After touring the ruins, we'll ride an ox-drawn cart around the countryside. Following this, there will be a short boat trip on Bendiweva Lake and a tuk-tuk tour of the local area.
Next, we'll visit Pidurangala, where you can explore the ruins of an ancient monastery. For those who wish, climbing to the top of Pidurangala Rock offers views of Sigiriya.
We will return to your hotel in Dambulla, arriving at 2 pm.
