Travel back in time on our Polonnaruwa & Pidurangala Day Trip from Dambulla. You'll cycle through the ruins of an ancient city, take a rowboat down Bendiweva Lake, and visit a Buddhist complex.

Polonnaruwa & Pidurangala Day Trip

At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Dambulla. We'll travel to the old city of Polonnaruwa by minibus, which takes around 1 hour 30 minutes.

Upon arrival, we'll swap the minibus for bikes and start exploring the ruins, which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, once home to one of the oldest kingdoms in Sri Lanka, founded by King Vijayabahu in 1070.

After the ancient city exploration, we'll head to the outskirts for an ox-drawn cart ride around the countryside. This will be followed by a short boat trip on Bendiweva Lake and a tuk-tuk tour of the local area.

Next, we'll visit Pidurangala, a peaceful spot away from city crowds, where you'll see the ruins of an ancient monastery. For the adventurous, climbing Pidurangala Rock offers breathtaking views of Sigiriya.

We'll return you to your hotel in Dambulla by 2 pm.
