Explore the best of Gdansk
Meet at the Brama Wy?ynna gate at the designated time to commence the journey through the historical gems of Gdansk.
First, we will travel by minibus to Malbork. Upon arrival, we will explore Malbork Castle, a medieval stronghold designated as a World Heritage Site since 1997. Experience a three-hour tour of the fortress, once the seat of the Teutonic Order, with audio guide commentary in English. Discover stories of the siege following the Battle of Grunwald and events from the Thirteen Years' War.
Afterward, we will return to Gdansk for one hour of free time for lunch before the tour of the old town. We will follow the Royal Route, the historical axis for parades and events of Polish kings during the Middle Ages.
Next, we will visit the Amber Museum, formerly a torture chamber and prison, pass through the Golden Gate Arch, and see late Renaissance landmarks. As we walk along Long Street, we will encounter the Golden House, Neptune's Fountain, the Town Hall, and the Court of Artus, associated with the myth of the Knights of the Round Table.
Finally, we will reach the Vistula River, viewing the medieval Gdansk Crane and the Basilica of Our Lady, the world's largest brick church. The tour concludes at the Great Armory, notable for its Dutch Mannerist architecture and facade details, including the Minerva statue.
We will return to the starting point in Gdansk after our eight-and-a-half-hour adventure.
