Bathurst Island Tour
We'll meet at Cullen Bay Terminal at 7:30 am and board a ferry to Bathurst Island. During the two hour and a half journey, enjoy the views from the Timor sea.
On arrival, we'll visit the Mission Heritage Gallery to learn about aboriginal villages and traditional sites including the Tiwi style Catholic church and wooden sculptures of birds from Tiwi mythology.
Next, we'll visit a local village to meet the Tiwi Islands' aboriginal community and explore their rituals and dances, as well as their body art, which has spiritual significance and indicates social status.
We'll then have a traditional tea with a small lunch before visiting different craft shops to observe the production of traditional sculptures.
