Delve into a crucial chapter of Derry's history at the Museum of Free Derry. With your ticket, you can explore how a working-class community stood up against brutal oppression.
Why Visit the Museum of Free Derry?
During your visit to the Free Derry Museum, you will explore the history of the city during the period 1968 to 1972, including the events of "Free Derry", civil rights movements, the Battle of the Bogside, and Bloody Sunday. On that day, the British Army committed mass murders in the Bogside. This led the people of Derry, particularly the families of the victims, to inspire new civil rights movements worldwide.
The Museum is located at the heart of these events. Your visit will include walking through the different rooms of the museum and exploring the city’s historical moments from the perspectives of the Free Derry community and looking toward the future of this town in Northern Ireland.
