Tour of Hondarribia, San Juan & San Pedro

Our adventure begins at the San Sebastián Bus Station, from where we will travel to Hondarribia, a charming fishing village nestled in the northeastern part of Guipúzcoa. As we wander through the town, we'll admire the brightly painted façades along San Nikolas Kalea, pass through the Puerta de Santa María de Atea located in the historic district, and take a moment to capture a photo alongside the iconic sculpture known as "Hatxero". Curious about its meaning? We will also explore landmarks such as the Town Hall, the Casadevante Palace, and the Zuloaga Palace.

Next, we will proceed to San Juan, situated at the base of Mount Jaizkibel. Here, we will walk along the old pier and view the fishermen's cottages clinging to the hillsides, while also appreciating the various historic palaces and churches that characterize this remarkable town. An exciting highlight will be a visit to a traditional 17th-century house with direct views of the bay, famously occupied by French poet Victor Hugo in 1843!

Our exploration continues with a fishing boat ride across the bay to San Pedro, another village steeped in the rich seafaring history of the Basque Country. Upon our arrival, we'll encounter La Torre, remnants of an ancient defensive structure, and meander through the old town, walking along its cobblestone streets that offer stunning sea vistas.

After four enriching hours, we will make our way back to San Sebastián.
