Discover the rugged beauty of the west of Ireland on this day trip to the Aillwee Caves and the Cliffs of Moher from Dublin. We'll also enjoy a boat trip along the wild Atlantic coast.
Day Trip Details
We'll meet at the Molly Malone statue on Suffolk Street in Dublin at the designated time. After boarding the bus and meeting your guide and fellow adventurers, we'll depart westward, passing through quaint villages, lush countryside, and castle ruins.
Our first stop is the Aillwee Caves, where we will explore this unique karst landscape, the oldest caves in Ireland, dating back 330 million years. We will travel 850 metres below ground to see rock formations, waterfalls, and bear hibernation chambers. This experience will showcase the geological and historical aspects of the caves.
Following the caves, we will enjoy a 45-minute birds of prey flying display, featuring eagles, owls, vultures, and falcons soaring over the Burren landscape, offering insights into their behavior and conservation.
Next, we will travel to the village of Fanore, where you will have one hour of free time for lunch. Afterward, we will embark on a boat trip along the Cliffs of Moher, providing a different perspective of these impressive formations.
Upon disembarking, you will have the opportunity to walk along the top of the Cliffs of Moher, enjoying the iconic views and visiting the visitor centre for information about the area's history, flora, fauna, and geology.
Finally, we will return to Dublin, arriving after approximately 12.5 hours, where we will conclude our trip.
