Visit 1 Merrion Square in Dublin to explore Oscar Wilde's childhood home. Upon arrival, watch a 20-minute video presentation detailing Wilde's life and his parents. The tour begins in the library of Wilde's father, Sir William Wilde, on the ground floor.
Entering via the back stairs, you will find an exhibition of artworks by Aubrey Beardsley, known for illustrating Wilde’s play, "Salome." Ascending to the consultation room of Sir William Wilde, you will learn about the house's history as a medical center and family home.
Proceed to the dining room and the Speranza room, which offers views of the Oscar Wilde statue. These rooms hosted Speranza’s salons with notable guests from Ireland, the UK, and the US.
On the third floor, explore Wilde’s parents' bedrooms, concluding in Oscar’s childhood nursery. An exhibition highlights Wilde’s grand tour of the United States and Canada in 1882.
