Discover Dublin's treasures with a guided tour of the Book of Kells, Trinity College's Old Library, and Dublin Castle.
Tour Details
We'll meet at the Edmund Burke Statue in Dublin. The tour begins with a visit to the Book of Kells, a 1,200-year-old Celtic manuscript celebrated for its medieval illustration. Housed in Trinity College's Old Library, it includes a Latin text of the four gospels. The tour includes information on the book’s origins, its symbolism, the painting techniques used, and the contributions made by monks and Vikings.
After a 40-minute visit, you will have 10 minutes of free time in the Trinity College shop. We will then stop briefly at the statue of Molly Malone to discuss her history. Our next destination is Dublin Castle, built on an ancient Viking settlement in the 13th century, which has served multiple roles throughout history.
During a 50-minute visit to the castle, we will tour its exterior and view the Record and Octagonal Towers, along with the gardens. The tour concludes after a total of 3 hours near Dublin Castle. Slán!
