Book of Kells & Dublin Castle Tour
We'll meet at the Edmund Burke Statue at the scheduled time. The tour begins with the Book of Kells, a significant Celtic manuscript over 1,200 years old, showcasing medieval illustration. Our guide will discuss its origins, symbolism, and painting techniques during the “Turning Darkness into Light” exhibition.
Next, we'll explore the Old Library at Trinity College, featuring the Long Room, which houses 200,000 of the library's oldest books, including the “Brian Boru Harp” and an original copy of the Declaration of Irish Independence.
We will then visit Dublin Castle, built in the 13th century. The guided tour will cover its exterior, gardens, Record and Octagonal Towers, and the Upper and Lower State Yards.
Our adventure continues at George’s Street Arcade, an 18th-century shopping district featuring nearly 50 stores and restaurants, ideal for souvenirs.
