Dubrovnik Guided Walking Tour
- 2 Stunden
Delve into the rich history of Dubrovnik on this complete guided tour of the Old Town, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1979, with an expert English-speaking guide.
Description
Greet your guide near the Pile Gates, a fortification complex from the time of the Republic of Ragusa, a rival of Venice in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. Follow your professional guide on a one-and-a-half hour walking tour of the city’s historic center, learning about its past and admiring important landmarks.
Your first stop will be at the Franciscan Monastery, dating back to the fourteenth century, which houses a pharmacy opened 700 years ago. In front of the monastery is the Large Onofrio’s Fountain. Afterward, wander down Stradun, Dubrovnik’s main thoroughfare.
At Luža Square, admire the Sponza Palace and Orlando’s Column, a symbol of Ragusa's independence. You will then walk past the Small Onofrio’s Fountain and reach the Rector's Palace, which now houses the Museum of Contemporary History of Dubrovnik.
The tour concludes in the alleyways near the Cathedral, known for scenes from “Game of Thrones.” During this walking tour, you'll explore over 1,400 years of history.
