Explore Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado's only UNESCO site. Discover ancient Puebloan cliff dwellings with a guided tour!
Day Trip Details
Mesa Verde National Park spans over 207 sq km (80 sq mi) and protects over 5,000 archaeological sites. It is the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Colorado. Visit the largest cliff dwelling in North America, focusing on either the cliff dwellings or the park's key features. Due to limited ticket availability, the Cliff Palace tour is a unique experience.
Both options start and finish at a central meeting point in Durango and include transport to Mesa Verde National Park, admission to the sites mentioned, and a guided experience.
Cliff Palace Tour (5 hours)
This tour primarily focuses on the cliff dwellings. After a 1-hour drive to the park, the main destination is Cliff Palace, dating back to 1260 CE. The tour includes tickets to Cliff Palace and an exclusive guided tour by an expert ranger guide. We will explore other hidden gems in the park while visiting the Mesa Top Loop for views of the Cliff Palace and surrounding landscape.
Return to Durango after your visit.
Mesa Verde Complete Tour (6 hours)
This tour explores the lives of the Ancestral Puebloans. Highlights include visiting Park Point for views at the Four Corners viewpoint and the Far View Village complex. We will visit the Spruce Canyon Tree House to see the 3rd largest cave dwelling and drive the Mesa Top Loop for views of cliff dwellings, including Cliff Palace.
