Mexiquillo Natural Park Day Trip

We will pick you up from your hotel in Durango and depart for the Mexiquillo Natural Park.

After a 2-hour drive, we will arrive at the park and approach a lake surrounded by coniferous forests and endemic pine trees. We will then walk to the Stone Garden, featuring petrified lava rock formations shaped by wind erosion.

Next, we will visit the Mexiquillo waterfall, which rises 65 feet (20 meters) above the La Ciudad River.

Following this, we will explore the tunnels of an unfinished railway project, which have integrated with the park's nature. These tunnels reach heights of 20 feet (6 meters) and lengths of 328 feet (100 meters), with some extending for nearly 1 mile.

Our final stop will be a viewpoint offering exceptional views of Durango state's green lung. Watch for the local cliff chipmunks!

We will then depart the natural park and return to your hotel in Durango, arriving approximately 7 hours later.
