Mexiquillo Natural Park Day Trip

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Durango and set off for the Mexiquillo Natural Park.

After a 2-hour drive, we'll arrive at our destination, approaching a lake surrounded by coniferous forests and pine trees endemic to this area. We'll then walk to the Stone Garden, a large area of petrified lava rock formations shaped by wind erosion.

We'll then visit the Mexiquillo waterfall, which towers 65 feet (20 metres) over the La Ciudad River.

Afterwards, we'll explore the tunnels of an unfinished railway project, merging with the natural landscape. These tunnels are 20 feet (6 metres) high and 328 feet (100 metres) long, with some stretching nearly 1 mile.

Our next stop will be a viewpoint offering views of Durango state's green lung. Look out for the many cliff chipmunks in the area!

Finally, we'll leave the natural park and return to your hotel in Durango, with an expected duration of 7 hours.
