Silent Zone, Mapimí & Ojuela: 2 or 3 Day Tour

Pick-up from your hotel is at 5 am for an exciting 2 or 3 day tour through Durango.

Day 1: Durango - Mapimí - Ojuela - Silent Zone

After meeting in Durango, we will travel to Mapimí for breakfast. Visit the Benito Juárez Museum before stopping at the Rosario Caves to see salt formations. We will then head to the abandoned village of Ojuela to visit the Santa Rita mine and cross its suspension bridge.

At 4 pm, we will arrive at the Silent Zone for lunch and explore local legends concerning the Athena missile and its magnetic anomalies. We will also visit the Hikuri shrine to learn about shamanism. The day will conclude with dinner, a bonfire, and a fire ceremony.

Day 2: Silent Zone - Durango

After breakfast, we will visit the former NASA train station and the Tetas de Juana Hill for photographs. We will then discuss the mysteries surrounding the abandoned mercury mines and the salt flats before attending a symbolic air ceremony and returning for lunch. In the afternoon, we will take part in the earth ritual before returning to your hotel in Durango by 2:30 pm.

3 Day Tour

For an extended tour, we will visit the old Los Remedios estate and enjoy thermal baths at El Ojo de la Cueva, followed by a water ritual. After this, we will return to the Silent Zone for lunch and then head back to your hotel in Durango, arriving at 2:30 pm.

Accommodation and meals

This tour includes 1 or 2 nights' accommodation in a cabin for 4, 6, or 8 people with a shared bathroom. Alternatively, you can camp in a tent. Meals are buffet style, including:
