Explore the very north of Scotland and highlands highlights like Loch Ness and the Great Glen.
Description
Day 1
Depart from Edinburgh on High Street. Enjoy views of the Forth Bridge as you reach the Highlands, passing through Perthshire. First stop is the village of Dunkeld, home to a cathedral by the River Tay. Continue to the Great Glen and visit Fort Augustus for a chance to explore Loch Ness and spot Nessie. Next, visit Eilean Donan Castle before heading to the Isle of Skye for an overnight stay in Portree.
Day 2
Spend the day exploring the Isle of Skye, learning about its myths and legends. See the Cuillin Mountains, the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock and Dunvegan Castle. Overnight stay again in Portree.
Day 3
More exploration on Skye before taking the ferry to Mallaig. Enjoy views from the coach, including the Glenfinnan Viaduct. Visit the Dundreggan Rewilding Centre before returning through Glencoe and Rannoch Moor. Arrive back in Edinburgh around 8:30 pm at Waterloo Place.
Itinerary changes
In Winter (mid-October to mid-April), the itinerary changes. Dunvegan Castle visit is only in summer. Third day features Skye Bridge and Commando Memorial.
Accommodation
Packages include Bed and Breakfast only, primarily in Portree. Breakfast is included; other meals are not.

Castles open from April to October. Alternatives may be offered from October to April.Dunvegan Castle and Eilean Donan Castle are optional extras with payment on the day.From 20th May - 6th June 2024, the Harry Potter train will not run; travel will be by bus.
