Loch Ness & the Scottish Highlands: 2 Day Tour Itinerary

The tour begins with a pickup from a central meeting point in Edinburgh. The first stop is Luss, a conservation village on Loch Lomond. The journey continues alongside the loch, through Rannoch Moor and Black Mount, arriving at Glencoe, site of the Clan Macdonald Massacre in 1692. Next, you head to Fort William, where lunch is provided before traveling around Loch Ness, viewing the ruins of Urquhart Castle. The day concludes in Inverness for an overnight stay.

On the second day, you can customize your itinerary. Options include visiting Culloden Battlefield, exploring Neolithic Clava Cairns, or whisky tasting at Dalwhinnie Distillery. After lunch, the tour proceeds to Ruthven Barracks and The Hermitage for a woodland walk (available in summer) before returning to Edinburgh around 7:30 pm.

Important information

Luggage is limited to one medium suitcase per person.The tour concludes at Edinburgh Waverley Station, approximately a 15-minute walk from the departure point.Optional extras are not included; Culloden Battlefield is £6.50 per person, and Dalwhinnie Distillery tastings cost £4 for one, £5 for two, and £6 for three (prices as of April 2019). Cash is recommended for entrance fees.Children under 5 years old are not allowed on this tour.
